    Rogue Trader Exo Saturnine Terminator

    This 1988 Jes Goodwin sculpt was simply marked “EXO” on the tab – no mention of the retroactively added Saturnine name in the flyers/catalogues/rulebook of the time.

    I haven’t noticed that patterning on the feet of any other contemporary Space Marines! This guy appears in the flyers as 410609 Terminator Marine.

    He can be seen in some artwork by Pete Knifton in White Dwarf #109 (Jan 1989):

    • Undercoat: Vallejo Mecha Black
    • Blue: Scale75 Art Cobalt Blue, highlighted by mixing in Kimera’s The White, shaded by mixing in Kimera’s Orange
    • Gold: Scale75 Black Gold, then Elven Gold, highlighted by mixing in some Peridot Alchemy and Citrine Alchemy and then White Alchemy. Washed with Citadel’s Contrast: Guilliman Flesh, diluted with Contrast Medium.
    • Silver: Black Metal
    • Red: Kimera’s The Red, shaded by mixing in Kimera’s Phthalo Green, highlighted by mixing in Kimera’s Cold Yellow, additional shading done with Kimera’s Carbon Black
    • Black/White/Grey: Kimera’s Carbon Black mixed with The White
    • Base: Citadel Astrogranite Debris, painted with Kimera’s Red Oxide, then Scale75 Soilworks Reddish Brown in the center and Natural Soil on the outer parts.
    • Lenses: Phthalo Green mixed with Cold Yellow, extra shading with Carbon Black, dotted highlight The White.

    The modern plastic Terminator:

    • Undercoat: Vallejo Mecha Black
    • Basecoat: Scale75 Art Cobalt Blue
    • Gold: Scale75 Necro Gold
    • Heavily applied Scale75 oil Burnt Sepia, wait 30 mins for it to dry, rub most of it off with a cotton tip
    • Lenses and plasma glow initially tried Scale75 White and Green inks, touched up/blended with some Phthalo Green and The White mixed together
    • Base: Scale75 Soilworks Mars Red and Natural Soil pigments on top of some Vallejo Ground texture paint
