Metal Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader Space Marine Brother Gorshin with Needle Gun

Not a weapon you see much of any more! He’s a 1987 sculpt, shown in later catalogues as 07016/15. His name seems to be a reference to Frank Gorshin, who played the Riddler in series 1 and 3 of the 1960s Batman TV show.

This Rogue Trader Space Marine was Capt. Huron Grimm initially, and seen as Chainsword 2, part number 070119/36 in the 1991 catalogue. He’s a Bob Naismith sculpt from 1987.

Marked as GW 87 on the back – nothing on the front on this guy.

  • RT Space Marine Brother Harris

    RT Space Marine Brother Harris

This guy was first seen as Brother Harris, and later as Bolter 13 which was part number 070106/3.

He’s a 1987 sculpt and was shown on pages with minis sculpted by either Aly Morrison or Mark Copplestone – I’m not sure which of those two sculpted this fellow. The sticking plaster across his nose is a lovely touch.

He shares most of his sculpt with Marine Medic 01 from 1987.

You can see him in WD99:

  • Metal Rogue Trader Warhammer 40K Brother Froth Space Marine

Metal Rogue Trader Warhammer 40K Brother Froth Space Marine

This guy was a 1987 GW sculpt! He was shown as Brother Froth initially, but by 1988 he had changed his name to Brother Sheer and acquired a sight on his gun and a fatter pauldron – likely to fix a casting issue with the old design. At any rate this is the earlier iteration! I can’t find him in the 1991 catalogue unlike most of his brothers.

Someone at some point seems to have filed down the studs on his left pauldron.
