  • Space Marine Master of the Watch – Metal Mini

The Master of the Watch is, in Codex compliant chapters, the Captain of the 2nd. Company. This particular mini was cast in metal as part of the Masters of the Chapter set. Apparently the actual company which guarded the fortress monastery was rotated out regularly, but the title remained with the 2nd. Company captain.

This guy I am intending on using as a smash captain – he has a jump pack in his future.

The post is more static than most of the modern captains but I think it should work regardless. Stay tuned…

  • 2005 Veteran Sergeant Aurelius Limited Edition Space Marine sculpt

This chap turned up in a bulk buy and it took me a little while to figure out who he was. I don’t think the aesthetic really suits the nostalgia marine force but I’m eyeing off the storm bolter arm for my Librarian…

Apparently he’s the Games Day limited edition model from 2005. He doesn’t seem to have a lot of info about him that I can find lore-wise, other than the fact that he’s called Veteran Sergeant Aurelius.

  • 1991 Limited Edition Games Day Space Marine Captain LE4

This metal sculpt was a limited edition given out at a Games Day – the base says 1991. Apparently it was a Jes Goodwin sculpt.

So many skulls! All over the cloak too:

I think he nicked the sword/scabbard from the original Terminator sergeant.

  • 1994 Techmarine metal sculpt – vintage Space Marines – 70085/2

Another metal mini picked up for the nostalgia force – this is yet another Techmarine, which is in the mid-90s catalogues as Techmarine 2 70085/2:

Still a bit of the decayed foam stuck to him and a little bit of green on his back, but on the whole he’s a good pickup for the force.

  • Space Marine Metal Bodies – Mk7 Devastators, Assault and Tactical Squads

Going back to the glorious days of shoulder-mounted Devastator squad heavy weapons – here I have three Devastator metal bodies to add to the nostalgia metal marine force…

…and a mixture of later Devastator bodies, Tacticals and Assault Marines.

There’s a Sergeant Telion and a Sergeant Chronus in there too!

  • Oldhammer Warhammer 40K Eversor Assassin – Metal miniature

Picked up this guy to add to the nostalgia metal force – one of the original Eversor Assassins from 1995.

Looking forward to getting some paint on him.

  • Games Workshop Imperial Assassin with Combi Weapon

This vintage Imperial Assassin with Combi Weapon from Rogue Trader came into my possession. Part number 072117/28.

I can’t find who designed it – the 1991 catalogue I can find this mini in just says “Designed by the Citadel Design Team”.

Looks like GW 1989 on the back to me. I can find it in the 1991 Citadel catalogue under Forces of the Imperium.

    Stripped:

    A 360degree video of it:

  • Games Workshop Space Crusade Dreadnought

This one is an oldie – a plastic Space Crusade dreadnought from long ago!

Check out that face! The sides:

Unpainted yet – obviously – that’ll come later!

  • Rogue Trader Brother Angst RT01 Space Marine

A Bob Naismith sculpt! Part number 070121/46 in the later catalogues.

Still a little bit of paint to strip on him, and the square base is just whatever I had laying around with which to stand him on.

Keen to put some paint on him!

  • Warhammer 40K Metal Techmarine from Command Box 1998

Some oldhammer! Or is this middlehammer? I lose track. This Games Workshop Warhammer 40K Techmarine was released as part of the Company Command box set a month 3rd edition hit, apparently – which would put him at being released in late 1998. Still using the same metal backpack as the older 2nd Ed. Techmarines, his sculpt is a mirror of the Captain with Terminator Honours and various others. It’s a Jes Goodwin sculpt.

In the 2004 US catalogue this miniature is part number 010110305 with backpack 010107503 and axe/hand 010110306.

I was painting the metal guys up as a Raven Guard successor when I got him, so he has been stripped for repainting in blue. The RG successor scheme:

Classic Metal Techmarine Sculpt from Warhammer 40K painted in a Raven Guard Successor Chapter scheme. From 2nd Edition.

All painted using Scale75 with the exception of some washes and a contrast – in the scheme of a Raven Guard sucessor that is as yet unnamed. Back when I was playing 2nd. Ed I called them the Harbingers, but that name is actually a canon chapter now (perhaps it was then too) so I need to find another.
