    I bought this chap new in the 90s (part number 010109604) and found him again in 2022 after not seeing him for close to 20 years. Here’s how he was when I found him again:

    1998 on the tab. Not much of the original paintjob survived. Perhaps I forgot to prime…

    Colours used:

    Undercoat: Vallejo Mecha Black

    Black: Scale75 Artist Green Grey, highlighted with a blend of Green Grey and Spring Green

    Armour Glow: Pro Acryl Titanium White then Spring Green. Revisited with Scale75 Inktense White and Inktense Lime. Blended with a mix of Spring Green and Green Grey.

    Bone: Pro Acryl Ivory, washed with Targor Rageshade. Highlighted with Ivory mixed with Titanium White

    Metal: Thrash Metal

    Base: Agrellan Earth over ‘Ardcoat. Then Soilworks Mars, then Reddish Brown, then Sand. Rim of Vallejo German C. Black Brown.

    Metal: Metal Color Burnt Iron, Steel, Copper, Semi-Matte Aluminium and Jet Exhaust blended together. Slight highlight with Peridot Alchemy.

    This chap was a 1987 sculpt! He’s known as Brother Basehart or in later catalogues as Power Axe 1, part number 070119/32.

    This chap is in Mark 3 Iron Armour and is part number 070270/10. He’s a Jes Goodwin 1990 sculpt.

    This metal Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader Techmarine was part number 070133/73 or 410505 and is a 1988 sculpt by Mark Copplestone.

    • Red: Kimera Red Oxide then The Red
    • Black: Kimera Carbon Black
    • Yellow: Kimera Cold Yellow

    Metal Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader Space Marine Brother Blake with Autogun

    I think the only Space Marine to ever come with an autogun! He’s shown as 070106/16 in the 1991 catalogue, and as Brother Blake in the 1988 RT3 flyer:

    He seems to be named after Madge Blake, who played Aunt Harriet Cooper in the 1960s Batman TV show. The mini himself:

    Silver: Black Metal, washed with Nuln, highlighted with Heavy Metal, Speed Metal and White Alchemy

    Base: Dark Mud followed by Reddish Brown pigments

    Metal Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader Space Marine Brother Gorshin with Needle Gun

    Not a weapon you see much of any more! He’s a 1987 sculpt, shown in later catalogues as 07016/15. His name seems to be a reference to Frank Gorshin, who played the Riddler in series 1 and 3 of the 1960s Batman TV show.

    • Blue: Scale75 Art Cobalt Blue, highlighted with Cobalt Blue + Pro Acryl Titanium White, shaded with Cobalt Blue + Art Black
    • Red: Pro Acryl Bold Pyrrole Red, highlighted with a mix of that and Pro Acryl Golden Yellow, washed with Targor Rageshade
    • Silver: Black Metal, washed with Targor Rageshade, highlighted with Heavy Metal, then Speed Metal
    • Green: Spring Green, shaded with Art Black, highlighted with Golden Yellow
    • Black: Art Black, highlighted with a mix of Art Black and Titanium White
    • Dust: Soilworks Natural Soil, then Sand, then Gypsum on the top of the rocks. Reddish Brown around the rim.
    • Base Rim: Vallejo Black Grey

    This guy was down as Marine Medic Kribins early on, then Marine Medic Kyle, and in the 1991 catalogue he’s Medic with Carnifex 070133/68. He’s a Bob Naismith sculpt.

    This metal Techmarine is shown as 410504 in the early flyers and 070133/70 in the 1991 catalogue. He’s a Mark Copplestone sculpt.
