  • Metal Rogue Trader Warhammer 40K Space Marine Captain Newmar

    This guy was listed as Captain Newmar originally and is Bionic Eye and Arm 070119/27 in the later catalogues. He seems to be named after Julie Newmar, who played Catwoman in seasons one and three of the 1960s Batman TV show.

  • Metal Rogue Trader Warhammer 40K Brother Morris with Multimelta

    This Space Marine from the original Rogue Trader edition of Warhammer 40K went by Brother Morris in the early flyers, and in later catalogues as Space Marine with Multi Melta and Bolt Pistol 070121/47.

    • Undercoat: Vallejo Mecha Black
    • Blue: Scale75 Art Blue, shaded with that mixed with Art Black, highlighted with that and Pro Acryl Titanium White
    • Red: Pro Acryl Bold Pyrrole Red, shaded with that mixed with Scale75 Art Burgundy Wine Red, further shaded with Art Black, highlighted with BPR mixed with Scale75 Art Intense Yellow. Bolt pistol was Bold Pyrrole Red, shaded with Targor Rageshade, highlighted with the same.
    • Green: Spring Green, shaded with Art Black, highlighted with Primary Yellow and then Neon Yellow, then Neon Yellow + Titanium White, and Titanium White for the little reflection
    • Base: Base coat of Burgundy Wine Red, then the rocks were done in Off White, then washed with Garaghak’s Sewer. Then pigments of Natural Soil, then Sand, then Gypsum for the rocks. Rim of Vallejo Black Grey
    • Bone: Off White, washed with watered down Garaghak’s Sewer, brought up again with Off White and Pro Acryl Titanium White, washed again with Garaghak’s Sewer.
    • Silver: Base coat of Art Black, then a drybrush of Black Metal, then drybrush of Thrash Metal, then a drybrush of Speed Metal, then a drybrush of White Alchemy. Then a wash of Nuln Oil Gloss and a little bit of Seraphim Sepia.

    This guy was Brother Potter in the early catalogues, later shown as Bionic Eyes and Bolter 070106/4. He’s a 1987 sculpt.

    Blue: Scale75 Artist Cobalt shaded with Prussian Blue, highlighted with Primary Blue and then a mix of Primary Blue and Art White

    Skin: Light Skin mixed with Artic Blue, highlighted with Golden Flesh and Art White, shaded a little with diluted Dark Brown Ochre.

    Red: Light Skin followed by Primary Red, highlighted with a mix of Primary Red and Orange. Washed with Nuln

    Silver: Black Metal, with Nuln oil wash, then Heavy Metal, Speed Metal and White Alchemy

    Varnish: Vallejo Mecha Matt Varnish

    Black: Art Black, highlighted with Artic Blue

    Green: Sap Green, highlighted with a mix of Sap Green and Primary Yellow

    Leather: Burnt Sienna then Burnt Skin, highlighted by a mix of Burnt Sienna and Orange

    This guy is one of the Armour Variants sculpts by Jes Goodwin. He’s a 1990 sculpt.

    As far as I’m aware this would be the first Mark II armour sculpt (some 32 years old at the time of writing).

    Blue: Scale75 Artist Cobalt, built up to Primary Blue, down to Prussian Blue, highlighted with Primary Blue/Art White mix.

    Gold: Necro Gold, Viking Gold, Elven Gold, Citrine Alchemy then White Alchemy. Shaded with Chestnut Ink.

    Black: Art Black, highlighted with Artic Blue, shaded with Nuln oil.

    Leather: Burnt Skin, shaded with Garaghak’s Sewer, highlighted with Burnt Skin mixed with a little Primary Yellow.

    Silver: Black Metal, shaded with Nuln Oil, highlighted with Speed Metal

    Red: Primary Red highlighted with a mix of Primary Red and Orange.

    Green: Sap Green highlighted with Spring Green and Primary Yellow. Small light dot in Art White.

    This Rogue Trader Space Marine was Capt. Huron Grimm initially, and seen as Chainsword 2, part number 070119/36 in the 1991 catalogue. He’s a Bob Naismith sculpt from 1987.

    Marked as GW 87 on the back – nothing on the front on this guy.

  • Metal Limited Edition Warhammer 40K Space Marine Riding Lizard TSF33

    This was apparently available via mail order only for a month in 1988! I can’t find any literature to that extent.

    That’s how it arrived! They were designed to fit with the RTB01 plastic beakies.

    This guy was part number 072129/20 as seen in the 1991 catalogue, and the conversion beamer is 072129/15.

  • Metal C100 Imperial Marine with Missile Launcher – pre-Rogue Trader Space Marine

    This guy was one of the eight in the C100 set, pre-dating Rogue Trader’s release by a couple of years. He’s shown as Missile Launcher then, and in later catalogues as Las Cannon 2 – part number 070121/37.

  • Metal C100 Imperial Marine Advancing – Pre Rogue Trader Space Marines

    This guy was one of eight in the pre-Rogue Trader Imperial Marine Shock Squad set, and was Marine Advancing. He was shown in later catalogues as Bolter 2, part number 070121/39.

    He’s a Bob Naismith sculpt.
