Imperial Guard Tarantula and Operator Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader
This is the Imperial Army Tarantula and operator, featured in the RTB3 Devastator set as well as being sold separately. The 1991 catalogue credits the entire page to Michael and Alan Perry with Norman Swales, and I’m not sure which was responsible for this particular sculpt yet.

Old World Jack Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader Metal
I was expecting this guy to have a backpack bump on his back but he doesn’t; and it doesn’t look like one was cut off either!
He’s a Bob Naismith sculpt from 1987 and was from the RT7 Mercenary line.
Painted:
- Undercoat: Vallejo Mecha Black
- Orange: Kimera’s Orange, shaded by mixing in Kimera’s Ultramarine, highlighted by mixing in Kimera’s Cold Yellow
- Black/Grey: Kimera’s Carbon Black, highlighted by mixing in Kimera’s The White
- Metal: Scale75 Black Metal, followed by Cobalt Alchemy, followed by a highlight of Speed Metal, followed by a wash of gloss Nuln Oil
- Blue: Kimera’s Phthalo Blue Red Shade, highlighted by mixing in Ultramarine and The White
- Yellow: Kimera’s The White followed by Cold Yellow
- Scar: Kimera’s Magenta
- Skin: Kimera’s The White followed by Scale75’s Pale Skin, then a mix of the two for highlights, and Kimera’s Oxide Brown Medium and Oxide Brown Dark for shading. A little bit of Red Oxide mixed in to Pale Skin for blushed areas.
- Leather: Kimera’s Oxide Brown Medium or Royal Brown as the base, shaded by mixing in Ultramarine with Royal Brown, highlighted by mixing in Cold Yellow.
- Base: Kimera’s Red Oxide, followed by Scale75’s Reddish Brown pigment, then Natural Soil, and a little bit of Sand pigment on the rocks. Wild Tuft is the front one and the back I don’t recall – maybe AK? Base rim is Vallejo Black Grey.
